What?

What notable things happened today? – Kind of strange question from the daily writing prompt.

Let’s look here. They want to know how I slept this morning because that is all I’ve accomplished besides sitting down at the computer. I slept fine, thank you.

Or maybe they want me to wait until the end of the day to respond to this question. Nope, the time is now for answering the daily writing prompt

Or they want me to do historical research. I love history but I’m not into regurgitating this morning.

I do know 50 years ago that I had just graduated high school, and I believe I was headed to the ocean this weekend. Ah the days of youth. Time has passed by so quickly.

I know it’s my daughters-in-law’s birthday. And, their pet dog celebrates the same day. I love them both dearly.

Here are some notable things I hope happen today.

  • I hope to finish my home power washing project.
  • Both my better half and I have an urge for a good pizza so I hope that it will be our dinner tonight.
  • I hope to take a ride on country roads without being tailgated, cut off or run off the road.
  • I hope pain meds aren’t needed.
  • I’d like to take some great photos and finish a charcoal drawing I started the other day.
  • I’d like to remember to put the cover on the car tonight before the 5 straight days of rain starts.
Sort of like me when I go to the ocean. I’m a bit older than that first Mustang but I feel like the second one still. Photo by Mike Hartley

I woke up

What notable things happened today? – The Daily Writing prompt inquires.

I’m not sure if this is what they were looking for in an answer but I’m going with it anyway.

I woke up, got a shower, and will be off to attend the Doughnuts with Dad with my granddaughter shortly. I’m filling in obviously but she and I are both excited about it. I even hung her invitation on my office wall.

It’s the birthday of a family member. It’s also the birthday of my son’s first pet.

I’ll try to create the best photos and drawings I’ve ever done.

I will spend some quality time with my better half.

I’ll stop and get a snowball today.

In history on this day something that seems relevant today with the Supreme Court in disarray. Google told me: On June 13, 1967, President Lyndon B. Johnson nominated Solicitor-General Thurgood Marshall to become the first Black justice on the U.S. Supreme Court.

I think I’ll avoid the news cycle today. That way I can avoid doing what the guy below does all day.
