How would you describe yourself to someone? – An interesting question from the daily writing prompt
I already talk about myself too much here so I’ll keep this short.
A simple man that enjoys simple pleasures and people. I’m retired and happy. A son, a husband, a father, a grandfather who loves his family. A career newspaper man. A double cancer survivor. A wana-be artist and photographer.
I also enjoy wandering the shoreline when I get the chance.

How would you describe yourself to someone? – The daily writing prompt asked this morning.
Finding my way by making my way. Simple and complex. Emotions, beliefs, and values I wear on my sleeve.
Son, husband, father, and grandfather.
A collection of scars from life and doctors. A mind in search of something.
Driven and insane. Rage and sorrow mixed with happiness, humor, and great highs.
A career newspaperman.
The leader of the Congo line while doing windmill guitar licks and other times missing in action.
A stick-shifting machine that loves being behind the wheel or handlebars discovering myself. Yeah, I’m one of those guys who would have parked my bike in the living room if my better half would have let me.
Speaking of that it’s been a week since I’ve been behind my ride being we took the family SUV on vacation. But this morning after I clean her, we are going for a long SPIN.
My old therapist. I miss her but the Miata is a nice substitute. Photo by Mike Hartley
