What skills or lessons have you learned recently? – I guess this is the finals question/exam from the daily writing prompt before the winter break.

I’ve learned if I spend a little more time looking at something before carving/etching, the better the result. Stopping several times along the way and looking again also improves the result.

I’m refining my skills working with lights. Mainly, holiday lights hanging in and out. But more importantly, learning about light and photography more. Recently I purchased a new camera, so I’ve been learning and experimenting with the various settings.

A recent development of watching less TV, equals more happiness has been relearned.

I learned that time moves even faster in retirement that it did working. I learned a jump in medical cost is a bit more painful when retired than it was when I was employed.

I’ve learned over this year it’s not so much the exercise but controlling the food/drink intake that matters.

An important skill is knowing that you can do better tomorrow than you did today. And that learning can be endless if you let it.
