How am I creative – asks the daily writing prompt.
I try but I’m not sure how successful I am at the creative hobbies I dip into. I’m trying to paint again. I love to photograph but I’m stalled there the last few weeks. I like to write but I have a long way to go there in creativity.
Sometimes I’m creative with the grandchildren successfully.
I have been successful at making my friends laugh. That I like a lot.
I’m going to get a lot more creative in the cooking department this coming year.

How are you creative? – Now that is an interesting question from the daily writing prompt and causes me to pause for the right answer.
Improvising – Sometimes I feel good at finding interesting solutions or fixes to problems or roadblocks that most don’t think of. Probably helped that I grew up in the time before the internet and all the answers and solutions became available on YouTube.
Humor – Few things make me as happy as making others laugh. Sometimes I see humor in a lot of situations that others miss. I look for fun and irony in life. Better to smile through the years than frown.
Good eyes for something unique or different. Be it looking at art or more importantly to me, eyes that help me in my photography. Maybe it isn’t that the eyes themselves, but how I use them. I’m always scanning. Looking at different angles, perspectives, times, weather and other factors. Maybe that’s why the vertebrae in my neck is shot. My head has been on a swivel for decades taking in life being if I have a camera in front of them or not.
I’m learning if I’m creative at carving/etching with the Dremel tool.
I’ve picked up the charcoals and pastels again and will see if I have any skills in those disciplines.
I’m good at decorating Xmas trees. Or so I’ve been told. Mom was a good teacher.
I love finding creative ways to deal with difficult people.
If I’m lucky I’ll be seeing how I can creatively restyle my Miata’s look and performance.
I’ve been writing in this blog for 10+ years now, so enough tinkering around. I need to find out if I’m a writer or not, this coming year.
Below is one of my favorite images from Arlington National Cemetery. I shot it visiting my parents about a decade ago after the laying of the wreaths. I like it because of the lone person paying respects in the upper right by the shadow.

How are you Creative?, so asks the Daily Writing prompt.
I’m creative through my art interests like photography, drawing, carving/etching, and writing. But I feel I’m creative in almost all facets of life. From creative solutions at a technical job to well-timed humor with friends. From how I customized my cars in my youth to the games I invented with my grandchildren.
I found it difficult to be creative when depressed. But when I’m not it just flows.

My granddaughter reminded me to be more free-thinking and creative in the time I spend drawing with her. As I teach her about contrasting colors and staying within lines, she teaches me to just do what comes to mind. To be happy doing it. To share it.
I feel I’m creative in love, cooking, and even in my workouts. Creativity can come from anywhere and in almost anything. From mowing the lawn to shaping the shrubs.
I’ve never felt more creative in my life. And I’m freeing up some time to express myself more this coming year.
All of us need to get busy coming up with creative solutions to a lot of the world’s problems.
