How is your window this day?

The color inside and the reflection of the outside made this a complete window for me. I love looking out windows. Be it the front windshield of my car or the kitchen window overlooking the woods behind my home or the screen door window to the front yard and porch that squirrels and deer seem to visit each day.

Every year near this time I remember a window I had at work for almost 2 decades that looked out over a preschool next door. And for Halloween they would parade all the young ones in costume around the parking lot circle which was right outside out big window. Seems like the whole company would be glued to any rear window in the building on the second floor for that event.

I love windows. They have character. I saw this one walking between some older buildings. I guess it had storm shutters at one time by the hinges left behind.

Looking out

A rather populated set of windowpanes. Reminds me of me. I love looking out of our windows at home. We aren’t at the top of the hill but near it, (elevation wise) so the view is nice for both sunrises and sunsets. Oh, there are lots of trees in the way, but this time of year it’s easy to see through them.

When we moved here there was nothing but woods behind us. Now during the winter, you can see faint lines of 2 homes in the distance and one home in a court off to our right. But I’m not looking for that anyway. I love watching wildlife. And there is a nice variety in the area to view if you’re patient.

So many colorful winged friends. And others so well camouflaged you have to have experience in spotting them. Sometimes I’ll look out the window and see a deer sleeping, then another and another and yet another. And I’m probably not seeing 2-3 more.

Most of the time I’m looking out and up. That is till you see a snake and then you gaze down a lot more for a few weeks. That isn’t a concern this time of year though.

There are homes with better views. But I’m very good with mine.

Looking in

Windows have always caught my eye. I guess it’s from the days of my youth. My mother told me of days she used to decorate store windows for Macy’s I believe. She would always point out windows that were decorated well or uniquely.

I saw this one across the street with the morning sun coming through it in Ellicott City of the storefront Made ON Main.

If this weather clears, I hope to get out and capture some more images today. Have a great morning.
