Learning to accept things I can not change. A tough lesson and one I can forget from time to time. But today I did something that I want to get back in the routine of. I made people laugh today. First some co-workers and then some staff at the hospital. I think I have a fairly good sense of humor. I certainly love to laugh and I can sense the high a comic gets when I do provide others a good laugh.

It’s kind of easy to lose humor when things aren’t maybe going a person’s way. Health issues and stress that comes with them is kryptonite to a laugh. But then it happens a friend sends a joke, tells an old story of mayhem, makes fun of oneself, a witty and well-timed commentary, a simple observation that is comical.

I received all those recently. And the smiles and chuckles that come with them. And I’m going to try not to let go of it. It’s good for my soul. It’s good for those around me to laugh. It helps balance life. So share a laugh today.

With a lifetime and a half in the Newspaper industry I'm preparing for my retirement career as an Artist, Writer, Photographer and Video content provider. I'm a proud father of two wonderful children and I'm still married to the first girl I fell in love with and probably only one that would have me.
