A Sunday morning shoot and stroll

Like I said, I was going to get shooting again and I was going to try to explore the county more. Well I only had an hour this morning and had to stop for gas but it was great to get out and work at this craft. I also did a bit of walking but really too cold for my taste. But a friend of mine says embrace the Hawk so a bit of walking I did. Plus its easier to get better shots if I get my behind out of the seat while I still can.

Then again I sat in the car to take this shot along Woodstock Road above.  And the one below of DD.

I almost stopped at the new (well relatively) Dunkin Doughnuts but I don’t drink coffee and doughnuts are the last thing I need even though I do desire them.

Actually was going to throw this picture out but it reminded me of one of my pet peeves in this County. All the damn Real Estate signs at every corner. I’m tired of it. I was tired of it decades ago and I’m still tired of it today.

Well now that I got that off my chest, back to some pictures. As I traveled down Marriotsville I’ve always admired the flag at the county dump up on the hill catching sunlight. Well, not much of a breeze this morning to make it fly but it was standing tall as always. Hats off to the staff that runs that up and down each day.

The Shell station confirmed my frozen fingers and slow-moving zoom functions this morning. Even though this might be suspect because the time that follows the temperature there is an hour off still. Kind of sad nobody has corrected that yet. But who am I to complain. My clock in my car is wrong 6 months out of the year. Or whenever daylight savings time is.

And the price is holding below $2 at the St Johns Shell. Wonder how long these prices will last. Gets tempting to buy that muscle car with gas at this level.

Drove down to the County Courthouse. And took a walk till my hands and equipment were plenty cold. I’m going to have to read up on cold weather shooting tips for photographers if I’m going to be out in this climate.

Never hurts to look over a hill and see what you can.

Man is it great to have a few minutes and not feel rushed when shooting. Sure lets me inspect where I’m at more. Then again an hour isn’t a lot of time but I think I made good use of it.

Never hurts to keep an eye to the sky also at times.

No ice yet but if these temps maintain it won’t be long.

Seems like everywhere I looked I found something to shoot this morning.

I love working with early and late day sun. So many interesting shadows to capture.

I promise not to spend the year on Main Street in Ellicott City, even though I surely thinking I could at times.

I can tell you that air conditioner in the window isn’t needed today. I think we once had an office in this old building. Then again there isn’t much but old buildings in this town.

I used to love this fence. It was right outside our first office for ZIP Publishing. Yep our own community newspaper.

Well, by this time I was getting cold and not feeling that hot so back home to edit I went.

I knew if I looked long enough this morning I would find some Goodwill in the county.
