Weekend wishes and a visit from Slim

Feeling blue after a night of rain. And with more in the forecast its going to be an up and down weekend. Sort of like my emotions. And that is the way it should be I guess. Concentrating on cookouts, some sports, some extra time with your significant other and or friends. You know, the fun stuff in life. That is balanced against the anniversary of my Mom’s passing and Memorial Day to honor my fathers few decades of service.

And I was saying that is the way it should be because life isn’t all roses. There are tough times. Some leave scares and troubles that haunt people for lifetimes. We learn from those events. And hopefully shape our life better with more appreciation for the things that matter and are important. To become a more compassionate human being. To enjoy life but share the rewards of it with others.

That is our friend Slim below, finding some shade under my wife’s SUV. Hey that’s what we get for living next to the woods. There is all kinds of wildlife around here.  I just happened to catch a glimpse of him under the car and with the sunlight reflecting off my red car it gave him a strange glow for a black snake. He seems to have taken a strange liking to us, making more appearances this month than he did all of last year. I’ve got to admit, I don’t see mice or moles around. And the frog population seems to being kept in check.

No that’s not a fan belt laying under the SUV.

I see you.

You think all those people voting on YOUR health care are going to be on that plan, think again. They have their own top of the line plan and they have nothing to fear. Unlike this working stiff with pre-existing conditions and was looking forward to retirement being I’m quickly approaching senior citizen status. But now it looks to be that I’ll be working till I pass just to keep health insurance that doesn’t take me to the poor house or inability to get it at all. Thank you very little Mr Cheetos and your blind minions. You pass this and you are TOAST

Personally it gals me that Trump will set foot in Arlington Cemetery this weekend. I don’t believe he knows anything about the type of sacrifice those have made and the reasons (democracy) they made them for. Also for the honesty, courage and integrity those who served have. That is what gets respect, not 3am tweets and lies.

With a lifetime and a half in the Newspaper industry I'm preparing for my retirement career as an Artist, Writer, Photographer and Video content provider. I'm a proud father of two wonderful children and I'm still married to the first girl I fell in love with and probably only one that would have me.
