I like it now that I start Sundays with a smile instead of the trepidation of another workweek. Not that I won’t be busy and have a lot of work planned/scheduled and probably some my better half hasn’t told me about yet. It’s just I’m more comfortable about who I answer to now.
The Daily Writing prompt sucked so here is the one I’m using today.
Love of Motorized Transportation
Today is also the last day of the Cruisin Ocean City event. I love vehicles, cars, and motorcycles but also some trucks. I guess I didn’t pass that gene or love to my kids. Cars are transportation to them.
To me, they are so much more. They are marvelous works of style, sound, and speed. Cars and motorcycles have represented a ton of fun in my life. I love the sensation of driving.
I’ve never owned anything outrageous, a classic, or extremely fast. But I have enjoyed them nonetheless. I enjoy a stick shift and have had one just about all of the 5 decades I’ve been driving.
My better half humors me by wandering some of the shows with me. I usually go to the local ones alone. But I doubt the kids would have any interest in them.
I love personalizing them. I’ll be starting work on my Miata soon. Who knows, maybe that will be the car one of my grandchildren learn to drive in the future. I did teach both my children to drive a stick though. My guess is they won’t ever buy one though.
Speaking of cars, let me go pull the cover off mine so I can go for a spin early tomorrow.
Random Thoughts of the Day
- Whoever said Sunday was a day of rest, forgot to clue me in a long time ago.
- Actions have consequences. So do inactions.
- Think I’ll watch a ballgame this evening.
- Life is easier when people tell you where they stand.
