I’m getting slack and I’m going to have to tighten up. Too much time passing by without the tangible results I’d like to see. No better time than the present to get going. I hope the power stays on, I’d like to get some work done.

Ironically one of the first songs on this evening was the Eric Clapton “Let It Rain” cover by Peter Frampton and the Doobie Brothers which seemed so appropriate. Along with the tornado and flood warnings for tonight. The thing that I don’t like is that this is coming from the southeast and our trees are used to storms coming from the west and northwest.

I did have some time to learn more about the various cuts and bits with the Dremel tool. I’m learning to take my time. Started another dolphin carving for my granddaughter.

Time to get back to work, it’s eerily calm outside with the rumble of thunder around.

I’ve cranked out about 50 prints so far and hope to do another 50 before taking a break.

Be safe, be dry, and try not to drive through this stuff.

For a change, it’s going to Western Maryland. Photo by Mike Hartley

Random Thoughts of the Day

  • Anytime I hear the song Aqualung by Jethro Tull I have a flashback to sleeping out overnight in the Capital Center parking lot for the box office to open for tickets for about 20 of our friends.
  • Make plans, and follow through with them, that’s living.
  • I’m sad I won’t hear Stephen Tyler sing again as recently announced. And sadder when I hear a Tom Petty song knowing he is gone.
  • The camera batteries are charged, time to put them to use.

With a lifetime and a half in the Newspaper industry I'm preparing for my retirement career as an Artist, Writer, Photographer and Video content provider. I'm a proud father of two wonderful children and I'm still married to the first girl I fell in love with and probably only one that would have me.
