Discovering a new city is a great feeling. I did too much admiring instead of collecting more images. But it felt good when I got back.
I equate it to being at a concert. You want to take in the actual event. In this case, with my own eyes instead of through the lens all the time.
I didn’t research the city much in terms of photographic spots. I had seen images of a colored row of homes, now I know called Rainbow Row.
The first day was a bit overcast but the rest of the week was sunny. I should have gone back and done another bridge shot with the blue sky instead of this one.
We really loved walking the waterfront.
As we were finishing our walk through the Gibbes Museum of Art I looked out the window and had this view.
This is one beautiful city. We had temps in the 70s during the day which was nice.
Good eats everywhere.
This looked like a good way to see the city.
It seemed like there was a beautiful church on every corner.
Or it was people dining or enjoying a beverage outside.
It was a great visit and a city we will return to again if we finish up the list. I have a number of shots from the Boone Hall Plantation to share later. Also, some works from that art museum.
The next two weeks of the Thursday Doors posts will include a lot of doors from Charleston also so stay tuned if you want to see more of the area.
