Taken for granted

What foods would you like to make? – I’ll respond to the daily writing prompt differently on this question.

I have a full stomach and therefore I should share that feeling. I donated to the Maryland Food Bank this morning.

A steak wouldn’t be a bad idea this weekend.

Food

What foods would you like to make? – The Daily prompt getting into culinary questions now. Nice.

I love food, lots of food, many different types of food. I’m fairly proficient at grilling. But I can cook inside also. This could be a long-winded answer, but I’ll try to keep it reasonable despite my excitement at it.

First, let me state that my better half is by far the most frequent and best cook. But I do like to participate.

So seafood and meats are things I love to grill and make soon.

I don’t look at cooking as a chore. I like simple things like grilled cheese sandwiches or PB&J to a dish I threw together of grilled prosciutto, onions, mushrooms, and peppers with spiral pasta and a few cheeses and seasonings in a wine and butter sauce. I’m still experimenting with this dish but my better half likes it and so do I.

Breakfast is also a lot of fun to make, be it waffles, pancakes, eggs, and the rest of the chorus of meats and sides. I have a real weakness for bacon so I’ll grill up a pound of that and put it on a lot of things.

Here I am all happy at my morning weigh-in and now I’m all wound up about food. I had better hit the treadmill or get outside and walk for a bit before I get out of control and start cooking.

I’m going to have to read other replies here: https://wordpress.com/tag/dailyprompt-2003 so I can get some other ideas.
