Rest well

There are some chores remaining but easily accomplished in time for some rest. The sun has set on today. A far from perfect day but one with most goals met. And despite feeling progressively worse the team of me, myself and I are spreading out the discomfort and planning for a better day tomorrow.

Random Thoughts of the Day

  • I felt lazy and very productive in the same day.
  • Watching the joy of a close friend share the enjoyment in the story of his 4-year-old grandson waking him up at 6:15am was a pleasure in itself. Almost like you were there.
  • I’m not what you would call well read. On the other hand, I’m well informed and I read a lot.
  • That’s it, I’m making an orthopedic appointment. I have a buffet of issues for them to choose from.

Peaceful easy feeling

What’s not to like. The Chesapeake Bay, markers for crab pots and Annapolis on the horizon at sunset. I can’t wait to get back to the bay and ocean soon.

I thought about going to the local airport where ICE is deployed. Seeing how many ICE guys I could round up and talk to in one spot and say follow me boys you have come to the right spot finally. The DE-ICING Machines are right out on the runway waiting for you.

Random Thoughts of the Day

  • It’s good to rediscover yourself every so often.
  • I love how CBS is rebroadcasting all the March Madness games. I’m close to have seen the whole first round action now.
  • Found a great picture of one of my best friends. Just made a large portrait for him.
  • I love the handwritten notes my family used to leave me. Saved a lot of them.
  • The more photos you have around you of your family and friends, the more you know you have a good history with people close to you.
  • And yes, I’m still sick of the cult of Trump.

End in Style

What a beautiful day in Central Maryland. Being outside in shorts and a tee shirt is sweet. Our local snowball stand was drawing a crowd all day. I’ll go tomorrow when it’s cooler and everyone is back at work.

Felt good to stay busy and active today. In walking the yard and picking up sticks I noticed 2 things. There is a mole, maybe a family or one that is on a mission in my front yard. Second, is the grass is greening up quickly and growing. If it cools off again it might slow it a bit but no more than first weekend in April it will need a cut.

So therefore, motor maintenance is needed on all the tools. I have all the oil and filters. I do need to check the blades. That will be on this week’s agenda.

Feeling like I accomplished a lot today and fit in a few minutes of fun in the Miata for a short ride. About to throw the cover on it before the rains tonight.

Random Thoughts of the Day

  • I never had dry skin on my legs till the last few years. Guess that is one of those senior bonuses.
  • What Trump said about Mueller passing is disgusting. Compare the background of the two men, I hope that Karma will visit DJT sooner than later.
  • Looking forward to a soothing shower in a few minutes.
  • I’ve enjoyed writing to my children over the years knowing it might make their day a bit better sometimes.

Take me back

For some reason the sunset or sunrise on the water makes my soul feel better. It gives me strength. Optimism is gained. Peace of mind is achieved.

As you can see by my last few post, I miss it. Having a week of it was great. I’ll return sooner than later but I’m having withdraw today and I’ll have to get a webcam up later when the time rolls around and toast another day.

  • You’re in good shape till you’re not.
  • Mother Nature is trying to kick my behind, but I’m holding my own against her. Thank goodness for power tools.
  • Maximum tan achieved, without burning. I’m loving summer.
  • I find myself talking to myself more these days.
  • Hard work keeps you young but be careful along the way.

Back in the saddle again

A late start for this daily blogger. Just in terms of posting though. I’ve just returned from a short family vacation at Ocean City Maryland. We pulled out of town before 9am to head home. A quick stop at our favorite Eastern Shore Produce stand Wrights Market for some sweet corn, bread, squash, onions, raspberry preserves for my son, BBQ sauce, cantaloupe and some salad dressing all made by them. Oh, also some apple butter.

The weather was great, we spent time on the beach and pool. Had some good meals and did the Boardwalk with the kids one night.

The storms that rolled through Thursday night were something. I got a few shots right before they hit the inlet area that I’ll post later tonight.

It will be nice to get into my own bed again.

Evening came quickly

Another day in the books. Well for me it is, I’ll be hitting the rack shortly. My body is not cooperating today and I’m going to give it some extra rest.

Random Thoughts of the Day

  • I think my granddaughter had a great day with us today. Mission accomplished.
  • When I roll my neck, it sounds like a truck going down a gravel road.
  • The division in people is getting very scary. It just seems to be brewing increased anger.
  • If I ever run out of different ice cream flavors to have, I’ll just start over again.
  • If this isn’t proof of needing to watch closely who you vote for, I don’t know what is.

Just like that

And while there was no sunset viewable today, we can hope for tomorrow.

It was a gloomy day outside, but it was a grand one indoors with our granddaughter. I love that she is so relaxed and happy here. Running and playing, drawing and building forts. We play games, make treats and let her use her imagination. And we make sure she knows she’s loved.

Well, it’s game time so time to pull up the recliner and catch another close contest while getting the last fix of basketball for some time.

Calling it a day

Feeling like I could have accomplished a bit more but content with what I did. Tomorrow gets a very early start and a massive effort to complete a few projects and move forward on others.

Woops, I just checked the weather forecast. We might have to adjust plans. I think I saw something about a sunny day and 60 degrees.

That fact might add a cruise in the Miata being added to the days activities. Just for sanity sake.

Random Thoughts of the Day

  • I got the best reward this evening. A short Facetime with both my children and grandchildren. Even though we don’t use it much, when we do, it’s my favorite app.
  • Tariff Tuesday. Destroying relationships with neighbors one brick at a time. Also I’m guessing that is going to help lower prices? Not.
  • Too many good people doing very important work are losing their jobs for no good reason making us all less safe.
  • Ignorance has led us to an ugly place in time. And it could get much worse.
  • So off to make it a better place, after a few hours rest.

I can wish

A brisk 31 degrees with some light freezing rain falling this morning. I feel like I’ve been hibernating for a very long period. All I can think of is a warm summer breeze, eating a crabcake sandwich with a nice frozen beverage on the deck, and then walking out to the gazebo over the water at Fagers Island, and watch the sunset.

We will venture towards the shore a few times this year and certainly dine here a time or two.

I like the music, and the food in either the casual or fine dining is great. The atmosphere is very relaxing and fun for me.

But I’ll have to wait a little longer till Old Man Winter decides to sound the retreat so I can hear the 1812 Overture they play as the sun sets each night.

Sometimes on day trips by myself this is the last stop and after the sunset I’ll point the car back west and head home. But it’s best when I return to the condo and hear the laughter of my children and grandchildren and continue to enjoy that warm salt air breeze.

Now where did I leave my big coat, it’s cold out there.
