Had the pleasure of seeing some wonderful sights this past weekend in Cambridge Maryland. The 9th Annual Schooner Rendezvous.

I’ve passed this town hundreds of times and never once investigated. Usually because I’m to anxious to get to or from the beach. Well that was a big mistake I learned. But I’ll detail that in a later post on Cambridge itself. Today’s is about the feeling these Schooner ships gave me. It’s about heritage and history. About craftsmen who built these wonderful vessels. The wood and textures of things found on these marvels of the wind.

Some great sights of boats on the water. Like the Pride of Baltimore II going out of port.

This was a great little festival and I’m surprised there weren’t more people and vendors attending. Especially so close to the Waterfowl Festival coming up in Easton Maryland.

You bet we’re Proud.

The variety of boats was a real treat. From large to small.

I love the rope and wood textures.

I don’t see any power steering here.

Saturday was pretty good attendance but with those gale winds Sunday it kept some back. Even some of the vendors were pulling up stakes or busy nailing things down.

While there were a good number of boats, I was surprised not to see more.

It was nice to see the teamwork of the crews.

Are you ready for Sailboat Jeopardy? First question, which one of these contestants were last to the bar?

So many colors and reflections with water to take advantage of.

Water creates some wonderful textures.

So next year you have to steer yourself to this event, take a boat ride, eat well, enjoy the sights.

Steer yourself to this Rendezvous next year please.

So, untie yourself and make a weekend of it next year.

Because this place has all the rope you need.

Just in case someone needs a line thrown to them.
